Today, when we visit an ancient temple or admire marble statues in the archaeological museum, we got the wrong impression that art in ancient Greece was colorless. On contrary, color in antiquity played a particularly important role.
We often hear about the famous “ancient four colors”, which are connected with the philosophical approach. The ancient, believed in four colors and primary colors were red, yellow, black and white. By mixing them, they obtain the widest range of colors.
In Greece, the blue is the feeling of absolute vitality and freedom. Blue is the cloudless sky, as well, as the sea reaching deep and welcoming.
